Happy 60th!

I remember……
frosty popsicles after playing in the irrigation water,
ripe, juicy cherries picked fresh off the trees,
crisp peas right out of the pod,
Tums at the rodeo to keep boisterous kids quiet,
the duckling we got at the fair,
weeks at Fishlake cabin,
ice cream and the ten o’ clock news,
bows that became hats and earrings,
dippity-do hair gel and rollers,
visits to Sears and the X building,
and coral moondrop kisses with metholatum goodnights,

but most of all I remember being loved.
